Beach, walk, LC-A Race, stage 9, Mexico, North America Team 3. Wonderful sunrises and sunsets which you can see while you drink coffee or beer or whatever you prefer in one of the few coffee shops the small pier has in the seafront.

Playas de Tijuana (Spanish for “beaches of Tijuana”) is the westernmost borough of the municipality of Tijuana, Baja California, bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the United States to the north. As you head up to Playas from down town Tijuana you can see the bordered road that leads to Playas as well as catch a glimpse of Downtown San Diego from afar, it is a curious and strange thing to see that sometimes families which have been divided by that border and can no longer meet in the same country, sometimes have picnics with part of the family in Mexico’s side and the other in the United States, they talk and catch up through the barrier that stands between them right on the Beaches of both sides.

Water sports such as surfing, body boarding, and kayaking are available when ocean water quality is good—the water quality can be very bad soon after it rains, it is also very cold most of the time, so brave surfers are the ones we see on the water more often, there are some deserted life guard booths because the Beach is frequented by many families but mostly just to walk around and observe the majestic Pacific Ocean and its wonderful sunrises and sunsets which you can see while you drink coffee or beer or whatever you prefer in one of the few coffee shops the small pier has in the seafront, which by the way the last time I visited part of it had been swallowed by the Ocean and is now being rebuild. In other parts of Playas you can find the famous Monumental Bull Ring and a smaller one where rodeos are sometimes held as well as an Arts and Culture house and many other restaurants and coffee shops, it is a peaceful and beautiful Municipality with a quite interesting history and definitely worth visiting while in Tijuana.
