Eiffel Tower: A Day And Night Obsession

Obsessed with this amazing structure, I head out with my three favorite cameras to capture its wonder!

On our first trip to Europe, my husband and I flew into Paris and all I could think about was seeing the Eiffel Tower! Of course I’ve seen it many times in the movies and pictures of it in books, magazines and all over the web, but I hear it’s just spectacular seeing it in person. So loaded with my three favorite cameras (the Horizon, LCA+ and Cheki 50), I headed out to capture this glorious architectural structure!

My initial reaction: “Wow! It’s really brown?!” Not exactly the color I imagined, but when it lights up at night for the first five minutes of every hour, it’s definitely an unforgettable site.

I had a true obsession with this icon. Looking for it every time I got out of a metro stop, watching it at a distance from atop of a double decker tour bus, and taking shots of it every chance I got, day and night. Even though most of my shots are OF the Eiffel Tower, one of my absolute favorites is of the city taken from the top of the tower. One evening, when the lines weren’t too long, we took a lift to the top platform and watched the sunset on the city of Paris. This trip seemed like such a dream and now I share with you this wonderful experience and my favorite obsession!

Thanks for all your nice comments... and yes I'm totally addicted to getting great cameras :-D Let me tell you, it was so difficult to limit the number of cameras on this trip but I'm very happy with the results! @ satomi don't worry, you'll definitely get a chance to make it there! And your shots are going to be AMAZING (like always!)

Lovely photos. I've never been there, but it's good to get it from a tourist perspective rather than the highly commercial images I've seen.
