The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a must see for any visitor to the Oregon Coast! I’m not usually into visiting aquariums but I must say this place provides a unique experience and you won’t be disappointed. You begin the tour by visiting the Oddwater area – aquariums that mix cartoon-like sea life with blown glass art. This is an amazing combination , a truly dynamic art experience.
From the Oddwater exhibit you can go into the Passages of the Deep – three corridors that are 360 degrees of aquarium! This is what sets the OCA apart from other aquariums, what a unique experience. You can walk above and below sharks swimming, we even saw scuba divers hanging out! There are hands-on exhibits throughout the OCA – I got to touch stingrays , sponges and urchins – too cool. The OCA also has an avian section and an outdoor exhibit that features seals and ottters, which are so fun to watch play.
If you are ever in the neighborhood of the central Oregon coast, stop in and check this amazing place out – you are sure to see some creatures that you only thought existed in your wildest imagination!

I have to put in a plug for the LC-A here because I was amazed by its internal light meter and ability to capture low-light scenes with such brilliance! Oh and don’t forget to visit the Rogue Brewery right across the street afterwords – they makes some terrific brews…..mmmmmm……beer……
