I am no green thumb but however I can give back to nature I go grab it. So that opportunity came last August when my friends and I trooped to La Mesa Waterhsed, La Mesa Dam Quezon City for my first tree planting activity.
We were given a short lecture first about the place and how to properly plant the seedlings. Armed with our little shovels, we trekked around 1-2 km to the tree planting site. Once there we sweated it out and planted our 100 seedlings. Whew! with a group of at least 10 people that was surely quick work.
But what made the experience for me double memorable was the site itself. It was the first time for me to go to the place so you can just imagine how fascinated I was with how massive the dam was, the trees and plants. All throughout the trek to and from the tree planting site, I was admiring the nature around me.
It was a good thing I had my Holga with me and I can take pictures of the scenes from the eyes of my toy camera. I was surely excited to see the shots afterwards. And I particularly liked this shot of my friend. Man communing with nature indeed.
If you like to give back to mother nature, why not adopt a tree yourself?
