Lake Martignano is about 3 kilometers from the small town of Anguillara. It is a difficult place to get to (but it’s always better than the endless tailback to reach the seaside of Rome). The lake is a natural reserve, and you have to drive through a dirt track in the roman country side to arrive in this place, (at this point, all the people that perfectly know all the tastes of Arbre Magique or that clean and polish their car every week, give up).
After, you have to park the car at the top of a hill, because the only way to go there it’s by foot (at this point lazy people give up). You go down to reach the beach, and in the meanwhile you think that it will be very hard because on the way back the road will be very uphill, but you don’t have time to regret because you are already in a panoramic point, and the lake is there, in your eyes, blu in the green. The lake is very beautiful and calm due to its difficult access.
When you arrive to the beach, you can read a book on the hammock, you can talk with your friends, drinking a beer or whatever you want…you can play football by barefoot on the fresh lawn grass…you can enjoy the sun and than refresh yourself with a dive…you can eat under the shadow of the trees, listening good music…you can wait the sunset, when the lake become pink…
I go there both in summer and winter and the lake has never disappointed me.
I recommend this destination to everybody.
