Bond, James Bond - Phang Nga Bay (Thailand)

I would recommend without hesitation the trip to James Bond Island. The journey out there through Phang Nga Bay is breathtaking and James Bond island is just stunning. A fantastic day out!

Sometimes movies change the landscape to produce an illusion; some other times they use it exactly as it is, because there’s no need to add or change anything. That’s what happened with this island in James Bond film. Only building some paths and a small harbor, changing the angles, they created in the film the sensation of a world that+ it’s not there. But all the outdoors elements are.

This island has been famous after the James bond movie THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN with Roger Moore and Christopher Lee attract many tourist every day. The unparalleled scenery of Phang Nga Bay presents a magical attraction for Phuket visitors and is well worth the trip. It’s a common island with a magnificent and strange rock at the entrance of the bay, but it’s always crowded with people trying to relate the sights with the film memories.

James Bond Island is a small stretch of land in the Andaman Sea that can be reached from Phuket on a day trip. The island is even more attractive in reality than portrayed in that movie. As the boat closes in on the island, the dramatic scenery really hits you hard and takes your breath away.

The island has a very small beach on one side which has clear unmuddied waters. As you climb the rocks and cross over to the other side, there is a long walking bridge which also acts as a pier for the boats. On one side of this walking bridge is a huge rock formation that acts as a refuge from the sun when it gets really hot. This is another location for some scintillating photography.

In Phuket we went to Phang Nga Bay with Siam Phuket sea canoe, it cost 1300 baht per person with buffet lunch on board and free flow of soft drinks and pineapple biscuits. This was a full day tour, and besides Phang Nga (James Bond island), we went to 3 other islands.

We were picked up from the hotel at about 8pm and had quite a long coach ride to Suwankuha Temple (Monkey Cave), our first stop. We really enjoyed the place. Next we had the long boat ride to see the 32 sea mountains of Phang nga bay. These mountains are really magnificent and awesome. Beautiful! Then we stop at the amazing James Bond Island. The mountains and rock formations are incredible. A must see to really see the beautiful unspoilt side of Phuket.

Huge, sheer limestone cliffs rising out of the ocean. Somehow trees and other foliage plants have managed to take root on these rocky outcrops. Streaked with orange colours, they make a vivid contrast against the green sea and blue sky. If you are at Phuket, you should take your time for a trip to here. Perhaps the best day trip on Phuket Island – if you have to choose one tour, go to James Bond. On the James Bond Tour you’ll canoeing through the caves, see the Mangrove Forests and lots of wild monkeys, see the amazing landscapes and beautiful blue waters of the islands, and snorkel.
