The “Palacio de Bellas Artes” (translated it means something like palace of beaux arts is an imense and impressive marble building. It’s construction started in 1904 but it was stopped because of the revolution (in 1910). It Wasn’t finished until years later.
The Art Nouveau style in its façade and the Art Deco on its inside fuse to make the Palace an uniquely fantastic building (I really don’t know much of architecture but that’s what I’ve been told; what I can tell you is that I love the place, it’s really beautifull and very impressive).
The Palace of Beaux Arts is located in Mexico City Centre, next to the Torre Latinoamericana(once the tallest construction of Latin America), the Mail Office (also a great building), and the oldest public park in Mexico City (La Alameda Central).
Nowadays the Palace of Beaux Arts is the venue for numerous cultural activities such as expositions, dances and concerts.
