Let’s Dance at Habana Village

Located in the heart of the Adams Morgan area, this is one of many bars and clubs that lighten up the night, but Habana Village, a salsa club, is my absolute favorite! Now I know some of you are thinking “But I don’t know how to dance to salsa music?” Well, that’s not a problem here! Just arrive about one hour before the dance floor opens up to everyone and you can participate in a salsa class. The instructor is a super lively character and she KNOWS how to teach. Plus, she divides the class in half, so that everyone has a partner and she’ll even rotate the partners after each step learned. This is really great because not only are you learning how to dance but you’re also meeting people before the club opens so it’s easier to ask someone to dance later on in the night.

The music is amazing. The club is 3 floors: the 3rd floor has a live band and can be reserved for events like birthdays, bachelorettes, etc.; the 2nd floor is the one with the DJ who plays a mix of salsa, meringue, and other Latin favs; and the 1st floor is the restaurant and bar area where I hear they make killer mojitos but since I’m not into the mint thing, I didn’t have one myself. The décor is also something to admire. Throughout the floors and even in the stairway, there are beautiful, colorful wall paintings of groups salsa dancing, playing music and even some famous singers/musicians in Latin music.

So whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just a beginner, this is a great place to dance, have a drink and listen to the Latin flavor!
