Arcachon is in south-western France. It is 34 miles southwest of Bordeaux in the Landes forest.
Me and my gf at the time spent 10 days camping there, at the base of ‘Dune De Pyla’ (the largest sand dune in Europe standing over 110m High, and 3km long)…and it was awesome!
The sand dunes we’re IMMENSE. A bit of a struggle to get to the top (super steep), but once you’re up there the views are amazing…and then you get to run down them as fast as possible (scary but fun!)….also it’s awesome to jump off of the tip of the dune (and wicked for taking jump shot photos!)
Our campsite was real cool (as was the new tent we had just bought)…Days were mostly spent cycling around the local forests (beautiful) or into the nearby town, or just cold chillin’ on the beach. Its a really laid back place and really really pretty. All the people were great too.
We had a pool at the campsite so i got to test out my newly purchased KRAB underwater casing, which worked a treat!
Arcachon is def a place i would like to go back to!
