Xi Men Ding, Taipei, Taiwan

Xi Men Ding, Taipei is the first destination for my life first ever Taiwan trip and I stayed there for the entire trip. It was located at the west of downtown. You can take Bannan Line (Blue Line) and get off at Xi Men station to reach the heart of this phenomenon area.

It’s famous with the display of culture and creativity. There was an unique exhibition hall with never ending art exhibition and unlimited stalls selling creative hand made products. You will see the youngster from all level of ages performing from street to street passionately. Their talent just surprise your expectation and the crowds engaged to their performance is just bigger than what you will see in the MRT at morning rush hour. Their undying passion to art is so vibrant and impressed you sincerely.

Shopping and food offered make this area more appealing than ever. You will never tire looking at the trendy stuffs displaying everywhere and tasting the endless variety of foods and drinks from the shops.

The illegal mobile food stall is very attractive to me not only the amazing food but also the whole 70’s feel. We seldom find the mobile food stall anywhere in most of the big city but Xi Men Ding just unify the 70’s and modern cross over scene perfectly.

The best part of Xi Men Ding is the night always still young. I was strolling on the street, drinking bubble tea, munching on the light food and triggering the shutter until pass midnight but still I’m not willing to bid goodnight to this area. Simply mesmerizing.
