The most delicious and exotic bazaar in Istanbul. Just breathe the air!
Spice Bazaar, located at the historical center of Istanbul is the place to go if you are in love with spices from all around the world. It’s also called Misir Carsisi (Egyptian Bazaar) and both the local Istanbulians and the tourists love the place. The Egyptian name comes from the fact that at Ottoman era, so many different kinds of spice were coming all the way from Egypt to Istanbul.
The bazaar is in the middle of a very crowded district called Eminonu. An area that welcomes more than a million different people everyday. They come for shopping, for visiting the marvellous Yeni Cami (New Mosque), to buy jewellery and most of all to take a breath of the mixed smell of hundreds of different spices!
Shopkeepers that keep yelling all the time attracts you just in the beginning of your visit to the bazaar. As you walk inside, the colors everywhere amaze you. Spices in all different colors, plus fresh teas that has been made from absolutely every herb in the nature. Also Turkish delights, dried fruits from apple to strawberry can be found as you wander at the bazaar.
