One of the last hurrahs of summer every year in San Diego is the Adams Avenue Street Fair. It is put on by city officials and is an organized weekend of local bands, good food, and random shopping from arts and crafts to Lucha Libre wrestling masks. My favorite aspect hands down…the people watching. Other than having the most depressing looking beer garden you have ever seen the street fair really is a good time. The overall atmosphere is great as everyone is just out to have a good time and enjoy one of the last weekends of summer. A loop up and down the avenue will make for an afternoon well spent. One of the more interesting additions this year was the Smash Shack, a large tent where you could pay money to smash glass plates and dishes against a wall. From what I saw and heard, it seems quite therapeutic.

The LC-A grew some attention itself as a very large and loud (see. Drunken) man, who only identified himself as Hawkeye, confronted me after he saw me taking pictures. He assured me he was able enough to take my picture without running off with the camera, but instead I offered to take his picture. After careful consideration he agreed and we had an interesting talk about, well, I don’t really know as I couldn’t understand a word he said. Chalk it down to another successful year.
