A Walk in "The Walking City"
written by faefaefae on October 5th, 2009 , 5 comments (4 votes)

The first time I set my eyes on Boston, I felt wanting to move there. It’s like a mirror of New York, minus the dirt and traffic. And annoying, obnoxious people. Quincy market is a place I can stay all day long without complaining (this and various Barnes & Noble locations citywide). The place is packed with people but in a good way. Families get together for brunch, friends shop together, lovers basking in the sun —it’s such a nice view.

It’s also worth noting that the air in Boston is lighter than I’ve ever felt in my two years in New York —but then it could just be the tourist in me talking. I couldn’t stop yakking about Bean town for at least a week after the trip.

A note to tourists: If you’re going to the United States, don’t just spend all your week in New York. Yes, it is a great city but there are other great cities like this one that you ought not to miss. I bid Boston with a heavy feeling. I haven’t been to San Francisco so until then, I can say “I left my heart in Boston.”

Shots taken with an LC-A and Kodak Professional Elite Chrome (200 iso) and Fujifilm Fujichrome Provia (400 iso). Cross-processed.

I only spent a day in Boston and I didn't do anything touristy (I mostly just hung out at Harvard) but the city looked really cool!
