Blåvands Huk is located in the South Western part of Jutland and is the westernmost point in Denmark. The landscape of the South Western Jutland was formed by the Saale ice age about 188.000 years past and it has formed the area pointed. Along the coast there is full of bunkers from when Denmark was occupied by the Germans during the Second World War. Today some of the bunkers are full of sand, but some for them are open and you can a walk inside. A bit creepy, but also exciting…. Do not forget to bring light! You just walk in, no need to pay for anything. If the red and white balloons are in the air, you can walk at the beach for a while. Then there is military practice, but it normally doesn’t take long.
At the old lightning house you can bring you camera to a higher level and see the view from the top. From there you can see Horns reef and the 2 sandbanks along the shallow areas Vyl, Munk, Tuxen and of course the rest of the beach area. It is a fantastic view. The lightning house is open from Monday – Sunday, 10 – 17cet, but in November and December is only from 10 – 15 cet. It cost 20dkr for an adult and 10dkr for kids. You can bring your dog as well…
The best time a year to go there is in the spring and summer because the wind there is very strong and cold and it can be very rainy too.
