Mora Village

I visited Mora during this summer vacation and I was overwhelmed by its beauty. The village seems to have stopped in time; the traditional Alentejo architecture is brilliantly preserved and it is surrounded by nature. Mora is in the Tejo hydrographic bay; there are two dams nearby where you can practice many water sports.

In Mora you can find great traditional restaurants where you can try the local gastronomy and excellent wines. Locals are very friendly and they treat you very well, all are happy to help you with any information or anything you need. In the restaurant we were treated like kings and I’m really looking forward to go there once again.

There are lots of points of interest in Mora like Mora river aquarium, where you can watch the life on and in a typical Iberian river and exotic species. Next to the river aquarium is a great river beach right next to the dam, I have rented a canoe and made a small trip down the river, the landscapes are amazing, there is nature all around.

There are lot of amazing monuments and churches to visit, all very well preserved.
The excellent weather, proximity to the river, excellent food and its natural beauty makes Mora an awesome place to spend some vacations.
