Lindhorst at Night

Lindhorst is a small village, a wannabe- city, a I don’t know place. 4500 People live there, there is a station, several bus stops, two (!) traffic lights, supermarkets (plural!) and two gasoline’s, a school, a kindergarten, a bank,… But mostly it is a place to live and not to work. There are worker-quarters, streets full of same looking, same cut houses and at the border there are still farms and fields.

I don’t like the city itself, but I like taking photos, so I have no choice if I do not want to go far: remain here. And at night it is quiet nice here, because you hardly meet people. Like a ghost city with some illuminated parts. For example the school yard is illuminated and looks very good in long exposures, the houses, the moon, the stars, the shops,… Open your eyes and you can see the beauty of this ugly place.

And one thing you can be sure of: there are cars driving here! And they are driving too fast and are like rolling discotheques.
But they are not playing the song of Lindhorst: “Smalltwon” (e.g. Lou Reed / John Cale) – “You hate it and you know you have to leave”
