Not only is it one of the most prestigious venues for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment and events on the Yorkshire Coast. The Spa Complex is unique among British venues, not only because of its location; right on the sea front in the scenically beautiful South Bay, but also for the variety of facilities housed in what is largely a magnificent Victorian building.
Scarborough spa was almost empty as I pulled up, apart from a few parked cars, but this was probably because of the rain!
Sadly I couldn’t get inside, so I had to resort to taking shots through watermarked stained windows as the rain continued to pour.
The spa is a short driv to the South Bay, or a 10min walk and If I’m honest there isn’t a lot to see or do when the spa is closed but I remember from being a child how busy the spa can get in the height of summer! There is something satisfying about the emptiness of a venue you know has a potential to be extremely hectic. You can imagine the presence of the happy families enjoying the traditional summer coastal atmosphere!
