Well I was 10miles down the road to one of my further afield planned locations when my phone rang, and it was my friend telling me they’d just announced that reverend and the makers were going to be playing an acoustic set,. So I had enough to time drive home and get dressed into waterproof attire to stand outside in the rain and watch the band play an acoustic set in the street in just over an hours time.
That we did with my pac-a-mac / kag-in-a-bag we headed to town. The gig was on Coney street and was a total acoustic set. They piled straight out of a minibus/van and started playing to anyone who was waiting or walking past. I will admit I was AMAZED, not only by the music, but by Jon McClures attractiveness – so sometimes I did forget to shoot as I was stood so close I as too busy drooling!
In my frenzied stupidity and childish excitement (I know you all appreciate my extreme giddyness) I forgot my flash! So the auto setting on the camera helped combat the lack of flash, shame I couldn’t stand still long enough. (I’m a massive music fan and struggle to keep my feet still!) also I doubt the rain helped!!
So I guess I’d recommend a similar location of a last minute gig to anyone, and I hope that you can do it better than I can… not only remember your flash, but remember batteries too sad face
