Trees & Tattoos in Ashland

This town is famous for its great local eateries, frequent art events, open-minded habitant and unique shops. A true location review on the city would encompass too many pages to not be a novel, so here I will focus in on a couple of my favorite and most recently visited stops.

My last visit to Ashland took me to Galaxy Ink Tattoos, where owner Megan took my ideas, doodles, and photos and created for me a wonderful tattoo of my cat’s paw prints, nose and whiskers (yes…THAT cat, that fluffy one, Boots, whom I think I am most well known for). Her work is amazing, and you can trust that you are truly in the hands of an artist just by stepping into her quaint little shop where artwork of her own decorates the walls. You’ll be overwhelmed by color, books about tattoos, tattoo paraphernalia, and most of all her sweet and down to earth personality. She is someone whom I instantly trusted and have gone back to now 10 different times!

Being a liberal town, Ashland is up to date on the green scene, with a plethora of places to find organic food, recycled products, and people ready to educate you on saving the environment. It is only common sense that a town like this would be very green, literally: trees, plants, natural paths and parks are plentiful, and the most famous of them all is Lithia Park. Weddings and graduation ceremonies are routine business here, as well as photographers going on outings either for nature shots or to take portraits and senior pictures. Inside the park you’ll eventually stumble across the Japanese Gardens, a mini getaway filled with foreign growth and educational signs so that you can learn as you experience the tranquil setting.

This city itself is mind-opening and revitalizing, and provides for the well rounded experiences that I enjoy having.
