Ecoivres is a little rural village located near Arras in the Pas-de-Calais, in the north of France. Which is remarkable in Ecoivres is the old church of the 16th century and its spire ornate with sculpt hooks. The churchyard is in ruins and the little chapel seems to be abandoned. But there, reigns a strange atmosphere…, maybe because of the ever changing light in the trees…
The region invites you to a promenade in the heart of the Land of Artois. During a tour of about 30 km, you can see 7 churches with sculpt hooks and the patrimony of chalk villages, castles, pigeon houses, farms… Each summer, an art manifestation is organized in Le Mont Saint Eloi, the village next to Ecoivres, combining paintings, photographs, poetry, sculptures in open spaces, and that was at that occasion I discovered this village in 2007. In 2008, I was part of the exhibition with some of my photos on the walls of Le Mont Saint Eloi, and I was very proud of it.
