The stadium is located in Kallang, the Eastern part of Singapore. It is considered a massive stadium when it first opened as it is able to seat at least 55,000 people. It also played host to our very own National Day Parade 18 times in its history. It was also the venue of the late Michael Jackson when he performed here in Singapore!
Why is it still open then you ask? The National Stadium was supposed to be replaced by a new Sports Hub but due to delays in the paperwork, the Stadium was used a few more times to host footballing events. The National Stadium is a piece of Singapore history and if I had my way, I wished that it would never be torn down. For now, I’ll just have to grab my chances whenever I can to capture it in all its glory before its gone!
