What I loved most about this place when I was young is the never-ending wooden play structure, a place where you can get lost inside due to its complexity and large amount of places to explore. There are slides, tire swings, monkey bars…all the usual playground amenities. But there are also tons of bridges, crawl spaces, nooks and crannies so that every visit can feel like a new adventure. It is a very old and unique structure aesthetically, and is only one of the great things about Bear Creek Park.
Also found here is a tennis court, dog park, skate park, and not to mention endless hills of grass and pathways to jog or walk on. What I currently love about Bear Creek Park is the fact that I can go there on a busy warm weekend and still find a spot all to myself where I can sunbathe without people around me; after all these years I think I still haven’t seen this entire park, it is so much larger than anyone realizes at first (about 100 acres!). You can always find birthday parties and gatherings centered around the outdoor grills and benches or even under the covered areas if the weather doesn’t seem too reliable.
This is a great place to visit and an even greater place to live nearby. It’s the perfect environment to take photos in, and I just recently did a photo shoot with my boss and her kids here. It is green and healthy, and you will see squirrels, ducks, and all living things thriving at this location!
