Casa da Música means House of Music. It is an interesting place where a lot of interesting things happen. Where different kinds of music happen and are related with unique environments.
Casa da Música means House of Music; this building was planned for the Porto 2001, Cultural Capital of Europe of that year. This was the main project of the whole cultural development. The idea was to create a singular place in Portugal, where would be possible to show and create different concert and activities related mainly with music. It should be a considered the house for all types of music, thing that helped for the name of it.
It is a nice place where you can visit and appreciate de different environments that each area has. It was one of the intentions of the Dutch architects from OMA (Rem Koolhas & Ellen van Loon) with that project. In the exterior area due to the shape of the floor, it’s normal to find skaters having fun there. It’s a really interesting point to visit in Porto.
