The Hop is a real ale pub tucked away behind the clubbing scene in Wakefield. It sells ale from local brewery’s as well as many other taste beverages. It has a pleasant outdoor smoking area and many function room, many include bars. It mainly hosts musical events, my fave being the open mike nights which takes place on a monday. They also hold various other gigs, I recently went to see up and coming indie band Ten Bears there. It also features comedy events too, which I am yet to go to. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly and you never feel like and outsider. Its a great place to go to see live music and have a few cold beers before hitting the big clubs in the main part of Wakefield.
