A gigantic shopping area for the whole family.
Continuing my exploration of this, the 2nd largest city of Sweden, I took a tram towards the city center. A couple of stops before reaching the Central Station, a large shopping area caught my attention. I got off the tram at Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen and instantly felt very small and lost.
Backaplan is basically a couple of gigantic parking lots surrounded by shopping malls and multinational corporations. Trying to cover the whole area is indeed an exhausting task. I started walking from the buss centre and followed the main route which guides you through the middle of the whole shopping centre. After about 40 minutes of seemingly endless rows of malls I decided to make my way downtown and leave this crazy commercial inferno.
