It’s a freshwater quarry and a fun, family friendly location to visit during the summer months in Maryland.
This old rock quarry is a great place to spend the day swimming and playing sports. There’s a couple of basketball and volleyball courts along the waterfront and even a regular pool for the kiddos that are not expert swimmers yet since the quarry gets more than 50 feet deep. The best thing about this place is the famous rope swing that’s about 10 feet above the water and everyone uses to jump in! I was actually here on a company picnic and they reserved part of the park, fired up some grills, and provided hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone. It’s a great place to relax in the summer!
