Central location, cheap accommodation and an interesting clientel makes this Hostel a good choice when you're passing through Copenhagen.
At City Public Hostel you can get a cheap bed in various sized dorms, mixed or gender separated. The hostel is located in Vesterbro, only a 10 min walk from the city center and a few steps away from the notorious Istedgade, well-known for its cheap hotels, raunchy strip clubs, porn shops and of course the prostitutes and pushers.
The hostel is open during summer season and sports a 24h reception. Beware though that often it’s fully booked and thus online booking is recommended. There’s always a wide variety of people of all ages and nationalities living there and the front lawn and reception is often very lively. They offer free wi-fi for your computer or you use the one at the reception for a small fee. I would recommend this place for anyone with a thin budget or if you’re interested in making new friends with backpackers and nomads alike. Although getting a good nights rest can be a bit difficult if you are sensitive about your sleeping conditions.
