When you ever come to Taichung, which is Taiwan´s third biggest city, don´t forget to pay a visit to the Tunghai University Campus and check out the world famous Luce Memorial Chapel.
The Luce Memorial Chapel is a christian chapel on the campus of the Tunghai University in Taichung Taiwan. The chapel was designed by architect and taiwanese artist Chen Chi- Kwan in collaboration with the firm of noted architect I. M. Pei, who is also responsible for such buildings as the glass pyramide at the Louvre in Paris that most of you maybe know from the movie “The Da Vinci Code”.
The Chapel got it´s name to honor Reverend Henry Luce, who was an American missionary in China. Quite often you can see couples are taking their wedding pictures in front of the chapel and when you are lucky enough to catch the right season the trees that surround the chapel are in full blossom which makes the scene even more complete.
Since you are already there, I recommend you to visit the near by cafeteria which is serving fantastic tangerine tea and an even better vegetarian buffet.
