Petanque is a form of boule where the goal is to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a_cochonnet_(jack). You can learn more about petanque on wikipedia

In Paris, we play petanque just for fun, from 7 to 77 years old. That’s a good way to meet friend and to have a good time with them. This place is perfect for that. It’s quiet and peaceful, and a lot of different kind of people are passing by. The best time to go there is by Sunday. After a good Saturday’s night party, that’s a cool spot to chill .

The spot is not far from different cool Parisian’s spot . (bastille, republique, canal saint martin,oberkampf,…) So , you can make a little petanque’s game and finish after in a good pub not far from the stadium :)

If one day you ‘re on vacation in france, and you’re going to play petanque, here are some french expressions that you can use at every moment during a game :
- " oh alors, tu tires ou tu pointes" (that’s the most used sentence, you can use it everytime, the players around you will be happy to hear it…)
- “ah, ça sent le fanni !” (it means that you’re going to win reaaaally easily. Be care before to say it, that the player in front of you isn’t a kind of psychopath…)
-“bon, un petit riri?” (it’s time to drink something! )

P.S : I saw that some lomographers were petanque’s player hehe, so if one day you’re coming to Paris, we could organize the first “lomo world petanque cup” ;) !
