One of the famous gardens in Firenze is the Boboli Garden, just behind the Palazzo Pitti on the southside of the river Arno (opposite the main old city). I go there every time I’m in Firenze because is a dreamy place, but usually it’s very crowded with a lot of tourists….Last time I went there, the weather was very bad, a little bit rainy/cloudy and for the first time I saw this garden almost empty and this gave me a totally different impression about the place!
The many statues of the garden, surrounded by this special atmosphere seemed to be alive and looking at us, the only visitors in this huge garden!! I shot with b&w, and it was perfect for this kind of weather! The garden is so huge that you can walk during hours and see so many statues of mythological gods and goddesses:)) For the historical background, have a look at the links below!
