Somewhere, in the wonderful part of the world named South of France, is a tiny island called the island of gold. It is a private island situated east of Saint-Raphaël, not far from the tiny city Boulouris. This island was sold in 1867 by the Frencg government for 280 francs to a certain Monsieur Sergent. He lost it after eat if a succulent bouillabaisse followed by a card game. The new owner built a tower on the isle, us if the stones of the Esterel ranges. Then, he proclaimed himself king of the island, and organized a sumptuous reception in 1913!
Many french are familiar with this tiny island because it has been depicted in an episode of the famous comic book Tintin.(The black island).
To resume: it’s a wonderful spot to go to : you can stay on the beach and swim, tan, picnic for the day with this gorgeous view, or make a walk under the pine trees all along the shore !
