Kebun Raya is a large place dedicated to mother nature. It’s a great recreational place, the setting is wonderful, as well as an educational place. The trees have their information on them, and their trees stand so tall you could break your neck. It’s a beautiful sight to see the sun peek through the branches of the towering trees. The smell of nature’s beauty, the curves of endless green, and a hint of magical sparkles here and there.
It is part of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, and it gathers a good percentage of visitors each year. It boasts about 82 hectares of trees, flowers, ponds, plants, lawns and insects! Ok maybe they don’t have that much insects in their gardens, but who knows?! It’s a great place to go back to your roots, literally, an escape from busy streets and man-made noises.
Go stroll around with your significant other, fly a kite, play hide and seek, and search for Yogi bear. The things to do is all up to you. The garden is such a beautiful place to reflect. There’s just something about being totally surrounded by mother nature. Embrace it while you’re at Kebun Raya, hug a tree! Swing by the gardens if you’ve got time to spare in Indonesia, I guarantee you nothing but a whole new point of view in life!
