Brand new skate park in Wakefield, a great place to hang out and skate/bmx/Rollerblade.
Thorne’s park skate park has been something I have been anticipating for ages; I used to skate when I was younger but never really put that much into it. With the opening of the new skate park I splashed out on a new board and started chucking myself around. My mates and I drop by whenever we can and plenty of picture taking ensues, anything from a quick shot from the hip or a set up shop that takes much consideration. A recent 5 in the morning session (yes that’s 5 o’clock am) was one of the best yet and the best shots ever in my opinion.
This park is ridiculously good fun for skating and taking pictures. Although it does have a dark side, chavs a.k.a complete retards, spoil the fun pretty quickly. I have been shouted at and my friends and I have had rocks thrown at us until we left the park. I feel something has been done and I will be using photography to get the bastards sorted out. Another cool thing about the park is the graffiti although it hasn’t been opened long taggers have already hit the spot and I imagine it will look quite cool in a few months; something else for me to snap up. I think there will be many more happy days shooting at the park with a large range of shots being produced, keep your peepers peeled for more on my home.
