Markthalle Hannover: The Stomach of Hannover

Hannovers so called “Stomach” is 4000 qm big, hosting over 70 merchants. After being destroyed in WWII the Markthalle was, on demand of 750.000 Hannover citizens, rebuild in1955. 1997 the Markthalle was handed over into the hands of a private company.
The Markthalle is worth a visit for sure since you can not only inhale a unique atmosphere but also grab a bite of some of the best food in town. Retailers offer a wide range of food from Greek and Turkish to Chinese and sushi to directly eat here. You can also find some of the best and most fresh butchers, cheese makers and fish retailers here.
The Markthalle is located just near the old town and the old market with the market church “Marktkirche”.
So why not visit a classic part of Hannover, and don´t forget to bring a camera!
