Morelia city has a fantastic colonial city centre and in it there are lots of characters and places to go, visit, and/or buy stuff. There are several museums, my favourite is the museum of contemporary art, named after the (prominent) local artist Alfredo Zalce, and tthe Clavijero cultural centre, they usually have some nice expositions there.

Also you’ll find some pretty cool markets, like the “house of art crafts” that used to be a Franciscan convent and the sweets market, where you’ll find all the typical candies, some art crafts and even toys(like little, crappy, not-too-well-painted, plastic luchadores(wrestlers))this is one of my favourite places.

Another good thing is there are several photography shops where you can buy and develop film, and a little photography school called Fábrica de Imágenes (Image Factory) where they sell photographic paper and where you can go develop black and white film for a good price (f you know how to [by the way I think the price is good, but I’m not 100% positive about it), they also have some good photo expositions and have a great Holga workshop.

Finally, at last but not least, the cathedral (and the many other churches) give you a chance to shoot some spooky and not so spooky saints, plus the cathedral is fantastic and there are lots of doves and interesting people to lomograph in the surrounding plazas.
