As a snowboard-aficionado I just cannot help but introduce my favorite snowpark: The Lonplaypark in Obertauern / Salzburg. It might not be big, but the shaper's imagination totally make up for that!
Obertauern is truly a great ski resort. In the middle of Salzburg, 1740 – 2526 meters above sea level, snow from November to May, apre ski at 4 o clock in the afternoon.
But – to be honest – I actually never make it to the center and will not be able to tell you about drunk tourists on ale-benches. I usually take the first exit to the left (assuming you are coming from Salzburg) and find myself in the so called Longplaypark. A snowpark after my fancy.
Go up the chairlift and find kickers and boxes for both beginners and let’s call it semi-professional snowboarders and free-skiers. Find a wallride and a tree trunk. Find yourself having a good time and forgetting about the same. Find yourself sad when the chairlift takes you up the mountain the last time at 4.30 pm. Find yourself tired but fully laid back when you sip at your radler at the end of that day.
