Last week, I received an invitation from Lomography Society International to share a lomo location based on my previous travel experience. I immediately decided to introduce a location in my home country, Taiwan. Gaomei wetland seems like a perfect choice!

I am in love with Gaomei wetland when I first saw the wonderful pictures taken by Taiwanese photographer on the internet. I still can remember the joy I had the night before going to Gaomei. I really appreciate the company of my parents.

Gaomei wetland is in Taichung County, which is at western central part of Taiwan. We need an approximately 3-hour drive to get there from Taipei. With the direction given by the association of Kao-don (http://www.gaomei.org.tw/travelling_01.html), we arrived at the south coast of the wetland and saw the windmills. As we continued to move forward, we finally stepped into the warm water with our naked feet.

Here is truly a paradise.

I didn’t see any human waste, but little crabs running from one hole to another. I heard no traffic noise, but the laughter of the children and young people. Wind blew gently on my face and hairs as I clicked my shutter. At the end of the day, I brought many beautiful memories home with me. With all my heart, I hope that this pure land can be well conserved. Let’s cherish!
