Every month the American Museum of Natural History does something crazy in the Rose Center for Earth and Space (read: the Planetarium) where they throw a giant party with DJs and well-stocked bars. Drink in hand, you’ll wander the halls of science and history wondering what else is out there in the universe…
And then you hear a sick beat and you just want to drop everything and DANCE!
You get that itch scratched and before you know it you’re looking at star maps and the crowd all of a sudden has gotten bigger. Big masses have more gravity, right?
And then, explosions of light follow more explosions of light. Camera flashes? Supernovae? At this point in the evening, who cares? Does anyone even really know anymore? More DJs! More beer! More DANCING!!!
Pretty soon you find yourself wandering into the planetarium screening room, asking yourself if there are other planets with life, why you weigh so much less on the moon, and how we are all made of stars.
Cloud nine has never felt so real before.
