An awesome location for wildlife and landscape shots, the trees hold a certain appeal too. You can walk, run, cycle climb and saunter your way round the lake’s edge. Or take a walk through the wild forest track. Situated near Pugneys Lake they both draw in a certain clientele, with pugneys having an extreme sports centre trouble can be caused by youths whereas Newmillerdam is a much more serene place.
The lakeside path is accessible by all, its wheelchair and buggy friendly, but no cycling on the lakeside path, there is a special route in the trees. If you really fancy pushing yourself you can buy an orienteering map and take a challenge that should take you a couple of hours. Personally I love walking round the lake’s edge and occasionally wandering through the tree’s, there are some innovative benches and sculpture by the lakeside path that are always worth a look and its a great place to go on a date.
