The Bioscope is a theme park, located in Alsace, France, dedicated to the Environment with a pedagogic vocation. It offers activities (exhibitions, shows, games, experiences, and since 2008 a huge botanical maze) on environmental topics such as: climatic changes, responsible consumption, recycling, preserving the natural balance and beauty of our planet.
For kids, it is a wide beautiful playground. The learning and scientific aspects are pretty light (not to say low), but that’s probably why they love it so much. No headache…
For the adults the interest lies mainly in the splendid architecture of the buildings (architect Frédéric Jung) and landscapes (architect Ursula Kurz). The whole park is designed in waving circles, which center has been imagined as the point of impact of a meteorite. The visitors are evolving amongst small hills, along little rivers and ponds surrounded by blended plants and stones, towards a skyline that becomes uncertain. A real paradise for lomographers…
