Beaulieu National Motor Museum

Beaulieu, one of the South of England’s top day visitor attractions, its set in the heart of the New Forest, the UK’s newest National Park. Beaulieu is a guaranteed great family day out with lots for everyone to enjoy including the world famous National Motor Museum, Palace House (home of the Montagu family) and historic Beaulieu Abbey. It is located within easy reach of the popular tourist destinations of Bournemouth, Southampton and Winchester.

The motor museum itself is renowned for hosting some of the earliest examples of motoring to legendary World Record Breakers like Bluebird, and ‘TV and Film Star’ cars like Del Boy’s Reliant Regal, Mr Bean’s Mini and the Delorean from Back to the Future,

It has many different sections to the museum like the Custom section – Showcasing cars and bikes taken on a creative journey from ordinary to extraordinary, to produce a unique one-off concept design, and an exceptional collection of World and British Championship Super bike Ducatis, currently on display in the Motorcycle Gallery, is the largest collection of Ducatis outside the Ducati Museum in Bologna, Italy.

But my favorite section was A permanent, multi award-winning 1930s garage has been created within the Museum, complete down to the last nut and bolt and rusty drainpipe. Whilst the building is a complete fabrication, everything in it – all the fixtures, fittings, tools and ephemera – are genuine artifacts collected over a period of 25 years. So Diana fans and vintage photography fans will be spending hours in there, unfortunately I went before I owned my Lc-a and was rather trigger happy with my fisheye2 and ring flash, but I was still happy with the shots I came out with and of course the day as a whole.

Ticket prices and times info is here

I will be going back in the not so near future and strongly suggest that you do as well.
