One of the Premiere Universities of the Philippines, AdDU prides itself of its to be a product of four centuries of Jesuit Education. Located way down south of the Philippines in the progressive and peaceful Davao City. It houses some of the local region’s brightest and some would say well off student population.
The campus is a haven for non-smokers and nature lovers. Recently Celebrating their 60th foundation day, AdDU hosted the 10th National Debating Championships. There, we discovered the pocket gardens and large trees of the university which seemed to paint an idyllic student life. The students here seem to have a shared disposition of warmth towards other people. On higher floors of buildings you will be able to appreciate the beauty of the coastline and the mountains that cradle this picturesque city during the day time.
Around the University are various shops and eateries which serve legendary Davao-enio dishes like “Sinugbang Manok” or roasted chicken and “Kilawen” or raw tuna in vinegar. All at friendly student prices ranging from 1.25 USD to 3USD that includes drinks and all the rice you could possibly eat. Adjacent to the AdDU Jacinto campus is a mini mall that sells all sorts of local products like traditional Muslim Musical Instruments and suits. You’ll also find affordable jewelry like gold and pearls being peddled at reasonable prices. Getting around the City is easy too. Almost everything you need like a large commercial complex, banks, hospitals and hotels are literally walking distance from the campus.
