Hello Bacolod!

Tagged as the "Sugar Bowl of the Country", Bacolod City is located just near the heart of the Philippines. The crazy archipelago distributed in 7,107 islands are unique on each place, town or city. So is Bacolod!

Negros Occidental is actually the name of the whole province (or state) but is always out of the blue since Bacolod City has gained popularity throughout the years because of the famous Masskara Festival and its sugar plantation sites.

Bacolod City is quite a small yet big city to go around. There are lots of establishments, malls, Chinese pagodas and shrines, some big parks to visit, party places and I think so far has the cheapest jeepney drive fare all over the country (PhP 5.00).

There are two highlights when you travel around the city. If you visit Bacolod City frequently, you’ll get to know the “North” and the “South”. This gives the distinction of “where-to-go” and places, landmarks, famous shrines and neighboring cities and towns. Famed by the Mayor as the cleanest and greenest highly urbanized city, Bacolod City is always a stop-over for most people who came from the southern area of Negros or somewhere else. Going back on being a sugar bowl, the main livelihood of the people here some time ago was of sugar canes. Plantations are big and spreads almost all of the Negros Island, which in turn qualified a lot of towns to become a city (including Silay City, Talisay City, Bago City).

Well it’s a nice place to go. A busy city perhaps and lovely lights when nocturne people are on hype. There are lots of new buildings cowering all over the place, it won’t make you homesick.
