The Seaport - Porto Leixões

About the sessions?? – We have many ways to get into a new city. You can drive your own car or bike. But when you do that, in fact you have no arrival spot at all. You can go to London in your car, but in fact when you arrive in London? It’s when you get a hotel? Or when you see Piccadilly? “In our minds” (not in maps) “destination was always a state of mind.”

For me, this excitement of arrival is always bigger when I first get into a “hybrid place”. Like a airport, a seaport, or a train station. Just try to remember the feeling you had when you gave your first breath just after you crossed the plane’s doors in your best vacations destiny…. By car is gradual, the air from where you came it’s always mixing with the air you find. By plane of even train, it’s inebriate!

So, I decide to shot, not the city it self, but the place where everything starts and/or ends. But isn’t only about take some photos. But in fact “shot” the multiple atmosphere at each place; Airport, seaport and train. Always in Porto, Portugal.

From where it came? Where he goes? What they bring, or what they take? Multiple containers remembering us what it’s the beauty of put one things over anthers. Just like a child plays with his legos, or as we play with our “shots” assembling a giant “lomo wall.”

Seaports in fact don’t have a special beauty. But as everything, if you look deeper, with a photographic eye you’ll see a uncovered things. Leixões isn’t’ different.

Big containers flying from ships to trucks. And always at top speed, because there’s always a time limit… And time is money, and ports stills being the motor of world economy. Leixões isn’t’ different, again.

Sim à noite é muito bonito o porto/porto. Mas nos últimos dias a preguiça imposta pelo frio para fazer "safaris" fotográficos nocturnos tem sido enorme.
