Shaolin, the temple and the legend. We’ve passed there too, but chosen the backdoor to the temple because of two reasons: first, to avoid the overcrowded tourists and second, to enjoy the beautiful 3-hours track in Songshan Geopark.
“Geopark” stands for the route through the mountains, where you can see the
inscriptions from time to time that tell you about various kinds of geological formations. Well, those were overwhelmed with scientific terms that only geo Ph.D. scientists may decode, but the track was great and ended at the Shaolin monastery.
It was darkening, so we’ve succeeded to see the pagoda forest, some of the monastery main buildings and to hear the evening pray and to catch one of the last buses to Luoyang.
