Located in the central Atlantic coast, Praia da Vieira is a village of many costumes, it is a fisherman village, people still use traditional costumes, still live from what they get from the sea and they still use the traditional wooden fishing boats; you can always go to the beach and see the departure and arrival of the boats and participate in the “Arte Xávega” fishing style.
In the winter the village is usually empty but in the summer it is packed with tourists, enjoying the warm sun, cold water, sandy beaches and delicious seafood, in fact, Vieira has some of the best seafood restaurants in the region where you can enjoy your meal facing the beach and watching the most beautiful sunsets. Despite of being a quiet village, it got lots of bars and discos nearby where you can have fun all night long.
One of the things I like most in Vieira beach is its traditional beauty, just grab you camera and shoot film after film, enjoying the amazing landscapes which it provides. You can also visit the traditional fisherman houses, made out of wood and painted with vivid colors, and the fish market. Vieira beach is completely flat; you can rent a bike and visit the whole village, the pine tree woods and beaches nearby.
Finding lodging in Vieira is not a problem, it got a Hotel, a camping site and many houses or rooms for rent.
All shots taken with Supersampler and 35mm Yashica 35-ME.
