Dry Tortugas, a Private Island
written by day3hugger on January 1st, 2009 , one comment (1 vote)

A couple of months ago, me and some friends spent a weekend on a beautiful and remote island on the Gulf of Mexico. We arrived there by ferry with 20 other people, but those people would take the ferry back later in the day.

My friends and I wanted to camp out on the island, so we set up our tents and went around the island to get to know the place. We got something to eat and then spent the rest of the afternoon lying on the beach. When the other people that came on the ferry left, we started our little party. We were the only people on the island, except for a few rangers, who never bothered us for the loud music, and a couple of lovers who were busy with each other, so they didn’t bother us either.

We had more alcohol than food on our portable freezer. I passed out on the beach and woke up with a horrible tan. All of my friends had also passed out, so I grabbed my fisheye and went on a little shooting adventure. Before that, I made sure to take some pictures of my friends wasted at the beach.

Eventually, they woke up and joined me on the fisheye shooting. The next two days were also really fun. For all of us, this was one of the most unforgettable trips ever.
