Kiting and paragliding @ Mont Ventoux

At the beginning of October, I gathered with my parents and my brother and sister to celebrate my parents’ 50 years… On the Saturday we went up the Mont Ventoux, a 1912 meters high summit in the South East of France, to play a bit with the kite and take a lesson of… Paragliding!
My brother has been into paragliding for a couple of years now, and my father and I really wanted to try take offs… So we went to that wide grassy field before we reached the summit (much too rocky) and had a few tries… And now it’s another expensive (both in time & money) sport i would love to practice!
It was also a cool days for shooting lomos, especially with the horizon and its wide format which makes it possible to get both the kite and the guy controlling it… On the same picture! The Mont Ventoux is a very special place as soon as you get over the limit height where the trees stop to grow… You then enter a really rocky and lunar landscape, it’s quite simple, there are only rocks (you can even see it on the google map, a big white stain)! Big white rocks and nothing else but the big antenna on the summit, good place for shooting black and white and pretend you were Neil Armstrong! Black & White in a Horizon, sounds like the perfect combination for me on this spot, and of course an LC-A with some slide film to Xpro, one always need a bit of colour (and it was cool for shooting the supercars we happened to see near the summit!!!!
