Xi'an Night Market

Xi'an, Shaanxi province is a megapolis with more then 3000 years of history, has many attractions that strike the eyes of tourists, coming all around the world. But this time I am not going to tell you about the Qin Shi Huand Emperor and his Terracotta Army.

Xi’an, Shaanxi province is a megapolis with more then 3000 years of history, has many attractions that strike the eyes of tourists, coming all around the world. But this time I am not going to tell you about the Qin Shi Huand Emperor and his Terracotta Army.

Instead, lets wait till the evening, pass the kite sellers near the Drum Tower and walk to the night market in the Muslim Quarter. Here you can visit delicious food – a win-win combination of Muslim and Chinese cousins: the fried flat breads, the eastern sweeties and nuts, the dumplings and the hot-pot (kinda big bowl with a permanently boiling soup, surrounded by various vegetables, mushrooms and kinds of meat – just catch anything by chopsticks, put in the soup for a while and… yammie :) the most surprise, however, was to find the regular shawerma (shwarma?), same one like in the Middle East… or Germany… or Moscow :)

So, those that visit Xi’an – they simply cannot miss it. For the others – what can I say? The atmosphere is friendly, the people are smiling (sometimes not counting the surprising moments of being captured by a lomocamera :), the food is perfect – just catch a plane and give it a try! :)
