Any Fairground around...

There is this old Simply Red song: Driving down an endless road Taking friends or moving alone Pleasure at the fairground on the way. Not that I´m a big fan of Simply Red but the lyrics kind of fits the location I want to introduce to you.

I´m talking about fair grounds. In summertime you can almost find them everywhere from a small town to a big city on nearly every weekend. Besides a lot of drunken rednecks, a creative photographer like you can always find a nice shot out there, whether it´s in the daytime or in the night when all the lights are on. Not only the roller coasters or the Haunted House, also the kids that are smiling like hell when they ride an elephant or a fire engine.

It´s also kind of interesting to go there when they start to build it up or shortly before they are leaving. Then you can get amazing shots from “Donald Duck” looking feet first out of a truck or from a “scary zombie” laying on the ground and waiting for some new bulbs to make his eyeballs glow again.

While I´m writing this I can´t honestly wait to visit the next fairground coming to town, because the more I think about it – the more shots I can see already in my head.

Be careful ladies and gentlemen: the next ride will be a wild one.
